Reintroducing Fun in Learning English – under PBLA
The workshop presented classroom activities that reintroduced the “fun” of learning English in the PBLA context. The presenters showed real activities that focused on students’ engagement and participation while accomplishing the needs of PBLA real world tasks. Participants experimented with different ways of teaching topics like: Canadian culture, employment, health while using role-play, skits and other interactive activities. They brainstormed classroom activities and evaluated the assessment tools. Finally, they engaged in an open discussion about how we, as teachers, instructors and facilitators, can reintroduce the FUN in learning English while still using PBLA.
Enjoyed the workshop. Maria and Elizabeth worked well together and showed how fun with learning is a very effective strategy to include in many teaching activities. Compelling and worth further exploration. MG
Thank you for you kind words, Merv. It was fun to have such a great audience (you included :)). M & E
I attended the webinar on Report Card Writing Dos and Don’ts last Friday. It was a practical one with many examples showing what positive feedback and negative feedback looks like, some of which I was not aware of before:) It provided a great opportunity for the attendees to discuss the experiences and learn from each other as well. Thank you Maria!
Thank you Mavis, I am very glad that in spite of your teaching experience you still found new information in the workshop – that is very important feedback. I look forward to your participation in other sessions. Maria
